Ministries

Fairfield Baptist Church believes that ministry is the most effective way to embody Christ in our community.
These are comprised of ministries that exist within the weekly service, and ministries that operate outside of the weekly service. The following is a list of some of the more prominent ministries:

About our Sunday Services

We meet each week at the 151 Stuart Drive, Wulguru 4811 at 9:30 am.
Our services usually run for between 75-90 minutes.
They are relaxed and informal and we seek to keep in mind the needs of the mix of young adults, families and older people that are part of our church.
As core pillars of our church, we emphasize: Biblical preaching Fervent Prayer, Adoration in Worship and Unashamed Evangelism These values will come through in our worship services and in our priorities and decisions as a church.

Prayer Ministry

Personal and confidential prayer ministry is always available from the pastors and elders after the service and at other times during the week. We believe in God’s power to heal and are delighted to anoint with oil and pray for healing by arrangement.

Special church prayer meetings are held monthly and will be widely promoted. At times we pray and fast as God leads and directs.

For Families with Children

During our morning service, we have a 5-10 minute dedicated time suited for pre- and primary school aged children. We call this “Jelly Bean Club”. This is to help children feel that they are part of the whole church service.

Likewise, during school terms our morning service has a dedicated Children’s Church program catering for pre- and primary school aged children. Children may leave for this program after their special time in the service.

Children remain in the service during school holidays but the “Jelly Bean Club” time continues. We take great care to ensure the safety of children in our care. Questions regarding children’s ministry should be directed to the church office.

Missions

We are deeply committed to both international and local mission. We financially, logistically and prayerfully support our mission partners in Zimbabwe, Guinea, Eastern Europe and Indonesia.

Our people personally support many other missionaries and mercy ministries. Personal financial contributions to our missionaries can be made by putting a marked envelope in the offering or marking a direct deposit accordingly.

Hospitality After the Service

We value the community life of the church and encourage you to stay after the service and enjoy morning tea with us.
This is offered either in the auditorium or the courtyard area.

Fairfield Life Groups

Life Groups are groups of 5-15 people who meet around Townsville during the week. They study the Bible together, encourage and challenge each other, pray together, and enjoy times of hospitality and fun.

We encourage every person to join a Life Group if at all possible.

Fairfield Youth

Fairfield Youth is for high school age children.
The group meets every Friday night at the 151 Stuart Drive, Wulguru 4811 from 7-9pm and has a fun and varied program.
For more information contact the church office.

Fairfield Young Adults

Young adults, aged between 18-24ish, meet for a weekly lifegroup. This group is focused on discipleship and equipping for the many exciting changes and challenges that young adults face.

Chaplaincy Ministries

A number of our people are directly involved in community chaplaincy.

Our hospital chaplaincy team works with the other Baptist churches in Townsville to provide chaplaincy at The Townsville Hospital.

We also have a number of school chaplains, including at Oonoonba, Annandale and Wulguru State Schools.
Finally we have a church member working in prison chaplaincy at Townsville Correctional Centre.

Call the church office if you need assistance or would like to assist the chaplains in some way.
